Description:

Computer service/IT outsourcing provider based in Shreveport, Louisiana is currently seeking an experienced computer systems administrator to help manage our customer base of 200+ customers in the Northwest Louisiana area. In addition to the skills listed, candidates should also be able to pass a background check, provide valid references, take a skills test at the time of application and have reliable transportation and driver’s license. Candidates should possess a MINIMUM of 5 years of experience in the technologies listed and preferably hold at least one Microsoft certification.

Job duties:

Recommend hardware solutions for projects consisting primarily of single-server implementations utilizing Microsoft server operating systems, PCs, printers and network switches and/or a combination thereof. Recommend software solutions consisting primarily of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, Microsoft Exchange Server, Windows Remote Desktop Server, Microsoft Office (and other end-user software) and/or a combination thereof. Recommend SMB market network switches appropriate to customer’s needs.

Install, configure and test installations consisting of Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange Servers, Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Servers, Windows Desktop operating systems, PC hardware and peripherals, network and local printers, end user software (Office, Adobe, Internet Explorer, and other end user-type software) and various network switches.

Provide ongoing support of Microsoft Windows Servers, Microsoft Exchange Servers, Microsoft Windows Remote Desktop Servers, Windows Desktop operating systems, PC hardware and peripherals, network and local printers, end user software (Office, Adobe, Internet Explorer, and other end user-type software) and various network switches. Troubleshoot and repair basic network connectivity problems.

Preferred Skills

5+ years of experience in Windows Server installation, administration and support.

5+ years of server hardware installation and support – any vendor (HP, Dell, IBM).

5+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange installation and management. Able to install from beginning to end including SMTP configuration, firewall port configuration, security techniques.

5+ experience directly supporting end users, providing phone support, using remote control methods.

Experience with firewall solutions - any vendor - security concepts and design, VPN solutions, remote access solutions.
Must possess strong communication skills and be able to express technical concepts to non-technical people.
